Elder Board

There are many exciting things happening in our church family. We see God moving and changing lives all around us. With that reality, we have been steadily praying and pursuing God’s direction forward in every aspect of church life at Enon. One of the things that we have been working towards is the formation of an Elder Board. Currently we have 10 participants in elder training who are willing to let God use them in the ministry of church governance. Each of them are current ministry leaders who dedicate their time, talents and treasures to glorify God and build up the Body of Christ at Enon.

We have quarterly business meetings which are open to all members to come and hear about the progress and the current issues of the church. We have been diligently sharing in each meeting the progress achieved in forming the Elder Board. Following are some of the documents that we have presented and discussed during the open business meetings.

This is a list of each elder training participant and the ministry to which they provide leadership. We continue to pray for each of them as they have prioritized this ministry and are faithfully pursuing God’s will in the formation of an Elder governance.

This is a communication covenant that promotes healthy communication in all the leadership meetings. All ministries are encouraged to adopt the covenant for their meetings.

This is the Elder Ministry Description that outlines the overview, qualifications, and expectations of Elders as we look to implement this important ministry in the church.

One topic of study and discussion has been the role of women in church ministry. We have long benefitted from women serving in various leadership roles in the Body of Christ. When reviewing all the scriptures on elders in the church, we have asked the question, “should women be serving as elders?” This document provides a brief summary of our position following much prayer, discussion and study.

As we work to build up the training documents, we will also continue to share each step with the church at the open business meetings and here on the website for everyone to review. Thank you for praying faithfully!

We love you all!
