Now he who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will also supply and increase your store of seed and will enlarge the harvest of your righteousness.
2 Corinthians 9:10
The Bible is filled with references about harvest time. It was a practical focus for people whose lives revolved around agriculture and farming in order for their families and their culture to survive through the years. One thing highlighted in all of the harvest scriptures: everything brought in comes from God our Father.
Throughout October we will be searching the harvest scriptures and letting them shape how we view harvest time. How did the people of the Old Testament respond to God’s faithful provision? What does it mean to gather in a harvest of righteousness? Why does Jesus talk so much about farming and seed sowing? Answering these questions will require us to see things from God’s perspective. I believe we are on the verge of one of the greatest seasons of harvest we have experienced yet.
Also … this year we will be having a Harvest Offering throughout October. Baskets will be placed in the sanctuary so anyone can respond to God’s generosity by contributing their own gift towards God’s active mission and ministry. We are asking that everyone prayerfully consider what gift God would have you offer for the building up of His kingdom.
Harvest Offering 2021
Here are some of the things this Harvest Offering will support:
– Enon Building fund
– Enon Mission Trip fund
This is not our regular act of worship through giving. This is asking God what we can give above our normal gifts. We believe that God is at work in a manner that allows us to expand our ability to reach more people with the love of Jesus Christ. Christ is working to “enlarge the harvest of your righteousness.”
