It’s Advent! As we take time to prepare for celebrating Jesus’ birthday, His
“coming/arrival” over 2,000 years ago; let’s make sure we’re also considering and
preparing for His Second Advent. We may not know the exact day and time, but Jesus is
coming again! Jesus will return in glory to set up His kingdom, judge all enemies and
reward the faithful.
Just as His First Advent was a fulfillment of hopes bringing the beautiful, longed-for gifts
of PEACE, JOY, LOVE, and LIGHT; Jesus’ Second Advent will result in the ultimate,
complete, uninterrupted and eternal fulfillment of these gifts…
…complete and continuous PEACE- “Grace and peace to you from him who is, and who
was, and who is to come…” Revelation 1: 4
…complete and continuous JOY- “’Halleluljah! For our Lord God Almighty reigns. Let us
rejoice and be glad and give Him glory! For the wedding of the Lamb has come, and his
bride has made herself ready. Fine linen, bright and clean, was given to her to wear.’
(Fine linen stands for the righteous acts of God’s holy people.)” Revelation 19: 6-8
…complete and continuous LOVE- “To Him who loves us and has freed us from our sins
by his blood, and has made us to be a kingdom and priests to serve his God and
Father—to Him be glory and power for ever and ever! Amen.” Revelation 1: 5,6
…complete and continuous LIGHT- “The city (the New Jerusalem) does not need the sun
or the moon to shine on it, for the glory of God gives it light, and the Lamb is its lamp.
The nations will walk by its light…” Revelation 21: 23,24
We really can’t prepare to celebrate Jesus’ First Advent if we’re not preparing for His
Second Advent by sharing the hope, peace, joy, love and light of Jesus with our world!
May this Advent Season be the best ever as we prepare for and anticipate HIS COMING!
