2 Peter 3: 18 “But GROW in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior
Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever! Amen.”
To “grow” means to nurture, develop, cultivate, mature, flourish, produce,
enlarge, expand. This verse in 2 Peter says we’re to nurture, cultivate, mature in,
and expand the GRACE of Jesus. We’re to develop, flourish in, produce and
enlarge Jesus’ kindness, mercy and charity so that others will be drawn to His
beauty. 2 Peter also says we’re to develop and expand our KNOWLEDGE of
Jesus. We’re to constantly cultivate and flourish in our awareness,
understanding and experience of HIM! When we do these things, we fall more
and more in love with Jesus and draw other people more and more to Him and
His love.
We’ve had a beautiful season this Spring of seeing all kinds of things grow! The
trees have budded their leaves. All kinds of flowers have beautifully bloomed-
azaleas, dianthus, lilies, roses! The grass is lush and green!
Our church “Discipleship Track” is also growing. Not only do we have an adult
growth track; Pastor Nick has developed a growth track for our teens. And Genie
is in the process of developing a growth track for our Children’s Ministry! Our
shepherds see the importance of intentionally helping Believers of ALL ages to
constantly be growing in the grace and knowledge of Jesus that they will produce
beautiful things for God’s kingdom and glory.
Pastor David has created flowers for the teens to place on our “Growth Journey
with Jesus” wall in the back of the sanctuary as they complete their growth track.
He’s created grass for the children to place on the wall as they complete theirs!
These are exciting times to be part of the Body of Christ at Enon. I encourage
you to be all in and be a part of the beautiful masterpiece being created on the
sanctuary wall. More importantly, be a part of the beautiful masterpiece God is
creating with our lives!
