April starts a new sermon series.
The disciples came to him and asked, “Why do you speak to the people in parables?” He replied, “Because the knowledge of the secrets of the kingdom of heaven has been given to you but not them.” Matthew 13:10,11a
At Enon, we believe in the powerful words given to us in the Bible. It has been said by many through the years that an even greater emphasis can be placed on the words that Jesus spoke. When Jesus came and taught the people, there were times when “the crowds were amazed at his teaching, because he taught as one who had authority, and not as their teachers of the law.” (Matthew 7:28,29)
Starting in April, we will be kicking off a lengthy sermon series where we will dive into the parables that Jesus used to teach the people. These parables were amazing to the people who heard if from his lips, and they are still amazing to us today as they reveal to us heavenly truths through earthly stories.
The parables will be listed on the Church Center app ( https://enon.churchcenter.com/home ) so that everyone can read along, meditate on, and come prepared to hear God’s life-giving message to us from each one. I believe these parables still have the ability to leave us amazed at God’s glorious truths. I pray all of us will open up our hearts and minds to let God transform us by the renewing of our minds as we go through the parables of Jesus.
